ASSI – Plane Fire Simulation
3D Virtual Tours have completed many projects for the Australian School of Security and Investigations (ASSI). In September 2010, we were asked to create an aircraft fire simulation for them. The brief stated for “an aeroplane on an airport runway to burst into flames.” The animation would then be used to assist with the training of emergency response personnel.
We created the build up of fire and smoke making it spread to other areas of the plane along fuel zones. We then produced a flash based loop system towards the end so that training could continue indefinitely with the animation continuing in the background.
Below is a sample of the final project. These types of simulations can last 10-20 minutes so this video is a high speed version not real time.
